Version 2.3.0 Released

Version 2.3.0 Has Been Released:

 New Features:
  • Added "Sky Tower" Level - in the FREE version too
  • Added new unlockable tower: "Flare"
  • Added new achievements

  • Work around to save progress better on some phones

  5. i unlocked it, what does the flare tower do? description says it does slow and fire damage to passing enemies, but i don't see any evidence of fire

  8. I cannot update my paid 2.2.0 version to the current one via the market. Any advice? Where can i find help? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but i Just get "Download of 'robo defense' declined." ????

    Paid for game and now it just says "starting download", but it isn't downloading. Even tried to reboot with no luck.

  10. Please upload your game to other stores rather than Android Market (for example, http://slideme.org). I want to get the full version of the game from months and can't because my country isn't supported yet in android market.

  11. Nice additions... Thanks. Not sure whether this is the right place to add this but.. there is a bug in the VR training levels 'E' where when the path is side by side the robots short cut the path and not follow the full path/go over every square.

  13. Love the game. I see there's an in-game battery monitory. Can we get an in-game clock as well?

    Also, can we maybe get a bit more separation of the boxes to purchase upgrades? I sometimes accidently sell a tower instead of upgrading, or reloading my mines/teleport towers. I think a gap between the 4 icons would reduce that.

  14. Why is this version so much harder? Went from completing a perfect level 190 to struggling on level 155. Had to revert back to 2.2.0.

    also, little tip on getting the show off achievement (beating the map with a single tower). Using tower mix mode is a must, and find a code that powers the rockets up nicely (the previously posted 55055 worked well for me).

  16. Weopon upgrades keep increasing in price. Now 1.5 million points each! It didn't used to increase. Also flare tower doesn't seem to work. Got paid for version, 2.3. Thanks.

  19. Avandar, you have to buy the air burst upgrade to have mines affect air troops, but only basic mines do, not the new flare tower. How I personally get past the air units in survival is by having a mini maze of about 10 transport towers set up at the end, with 4 of them in line with the exit, gaurded by a maxed slow tower. When air troops get close, slow down to regular speed and reload the transport tower as fast as possible. If one does get by you still have 3 guarding the exit. Did I explain that okay?

  20. What about adding some strength to fire on higher levels, i.e. make fire damage a new upgrade? All those nice goodies (flame towers, flares, fire damage from artillery) seem to do absolutely nothing on higher levels (I'm beyond level 1000).

  21. It's easy to click menu by mistake on my phone when re-upgrading teleports. A couple of times I've gone to pause the game and clicked 'new game' by mistake. If I click 'new game' in the menu, it asks me if I'm sure I want to abandon the game in progress. Would it be possible to introduce the same thing from within the game? It would save a lot of frustration. Thanks.

  22. When trying to get the "show off" achievement, I realized that the towers are dumb. :-) They attack the stronger armoured units with priority. Instead, they should attack the fastest units with priority. As is, the tower is firing on some big robot, while the fast armoured vehicles pass by a dozen. Given the fact that fast vehicles (killed by one shot) drain as much life as the single high armoured gonzos, this is a serious blocker for "show off".

  25. Ugh it took 78 achievements and level 250 on the Factory level, but I got the Ultra Game (5,000,000 points during a game) achievement!

  26. GoTron, you should have more than enough fire power to take on survival mode. I completed it right after I beat level 100 on courtyard. The rest of the achievements are gravy after you finish that.

  29. I agree with Frunobulax's thoughts on fire damage. Playing at level 480, fire damage seems negligible. I'd love it if there were an upgrade for the intensity of fire damage, as this would put it on a parity with the projectile-weapon towers that have speed and power upgraded separately. Or add an unlockable that causes units on fire to have reduced defense.

    It would be nice if the "Cheap Fireworks" unlockable had a partner in one to bring down the price of upgrading a mortar to artillery.

    I've noticed that extending the duration of slow towers has an upwards limit of effectiveness, as eventually it gets so every enemy is slowed the entire time it travels between any two slow towers. I was thinking there could be an unlockable "freeze tower," that a slow tower could be upgraded to--maybe after upgrading to the max slow tower level--which would cause enemies to be frozen absolutely still for the duration. Or add a percentage chance that slow towers will cause that effect, either as an unlockable or as a regular upgrade where the percentage with which the effect occurs can be increased.

  30. THIS is what this game needs: the ability to redirect your tower's priorities. How many times have you died because your towers weren't paying attention to those zippy hummers racing towards the finish line?

    Just to be able to tap an enemy to draw your towers to it would be a huge improvement to this game.

    I bought the full version a year or two ago and somehow from switching phones I lost the download. I have now been flagged as a "fraudulent user"? I don't know what this means, nor do I know how this happened. I love the game and still cant get it back on my Evo.

    How can I get this game back????

  35. On Droid Bionic, when phone call comes in (or some other interuptions), RD forgets where it is and I lose a few levels. Also, it would be nice if flare tower indicated that mine tower was required first.

  36. I have a suggestion on future enhancements:

    allow teleporters/mines to hold multiple charges
    (maybe 3, N or even infinite)
    Adding an extra charge might cost e.g. 1$ more than previous charge, which gives $18 for 4 teleport charges (the coefficient might be higher if wise).

    this will sprare the player the desperate re-activating of those turrets if an UFO or a pair of quick enemies aproach...

  37. I would love to see a way to save progress (upgrades, achievements, points..) online to make sharing between devices possible, and also to not have to start over if you reset your device. Any chance for that in some upcoming release? :)

  40. FYI, Downloaded onto Droid Bionic, originally had it for Droid 1. Started from scratch for the fun of it. I found a glitch and tested it on another Bionic, when the phone is tethered to a computer, or in "mass storage mode", Robo Defense does not subtract money for upgrades. May want to test and include a patch in the next update.

  42. I'd like to see towers getting upgrades during each game - like if you get 100 kills for a tower it goes from Grunt to Sargent to General etc. Each new rank gives an opportunity to extend range or power up rockets etc.

    Also - I'm at lvl 520 and find I never, ever use mines, flares or fire. My strat is rockets, slow towers, teleport - with upgrades to artillery and SAM only as this is waaay the most effective. I use 1 maxed out gun tower early in the maze but other than that I don't see the point.

    With the mines - I don't understand the mine chain thing - does anyone use it? I'm not convinced I understand how it works...?

  45. First attempt at Show Off Achievement:
    Made it to level 0-61 using a fully upgraded rocket tower.
    Upgrades used: Stronger Explosives level 20 + Faster Rocket Reload level 20 + Health Reward level 10 (30 total).
