Version 1.3.0 of Robo Defense (free and full) has been released.
This release adds a new "dropper unit" which is available at difficulty levels 10 and higher.
The release also fixes a crash bug that can occur if you drag a unit off the bottom right corner. The Titan unit's health has also been increased.

I have a problem with the latest update. The text on top of the screen during a game flickers random characters constantly. I have a rooted, overclocked (1ghz) moto droid running cyanogen 5.0.8.

My issue is that I cant seem to spend my points anymore. I have beaten level 2 but now when I click on spend my points nothing happens. Anyone else having this issue?
ReplyDeleteWith a touchscreen, it's a little too easy to misplace a new tower sometimes / screen thinks finger lifted up, etc. Per chance that the code could be adjusted to allow full price liquidation within 5-7 seconds of initial tower placement? Less frustrations, more fun.

ReplyDeleteI love your game, but have been experiencing two types of problems. Around Explosive level 50, I would get my upgrade, but get points added to my upgrade totals because the cost of the upgrade was negative. Pressing the upgrade again, gave me another upgrade, and further increased by funds. After 6-8 upgrades, I finally would lose upgrade funds.

This happened both with 1.2 and 1.3.

ReplyDeleteThose with the text issues, this is a cyanogen issue, not a robo defense one. Install the patch that cyanogen provides.

On Nexus One/Android 2.2
1. Run game
2. press button on top of phone (lock/turn off screen)
3. press button on top again (turn screen back on)
Result: Screen stays on until the battery dies!

ReplyDeleteI'm playing on an Samsung Galaxy S and found two issues.
1) As John said before it drains battery as hell. Playing for about 30 minutes consumes about 40% of the battery
2) Sometimes the game hangs for a second or two, especially when the last Enemy of an level gets killed. I play the game on an HTC Hero before which did not had these lags.
But so far a really really addictive game :)
I bought this game on the android market and have been charged the $2.99, but am not able to download. I am stuck in "authorization hell" (Google that and you'll see it's quite the phenomena). Lupis won't give me my money back or give me a workaround. Google says it's Lupis' issue, although I am skeptical of that. But I'm stuck in the middle, $3 poorer and without this app, which I really want. What am I supposed to do?

Found some bugs in 1.3.0 in Achievements.

b) If you buy upgrades three times, the update button is disabled. However, if you buy a different update, the button gets enabled again, though nothing happens on clicking.

ReplyDeleteIf you click on a tower to upgrade (which causes the three tower options to lower off the screen) but then decide not to upgrade by pressing "back", the three towers are not scrolled back up to the original location.
It would be great if you put it somewhere on alternative method to purchase the full version than android market, as there are alot of users like myself, that don't have access to paid apps on the market.

ReplyDelete1: Once you get into higher levels (I'm at 450), the upgrade box animation gets in the way. For instance: I have a bunch of teleport towers. Along comes like 20 jets. I need to constantly re-arm the teleport towers. However, every time I tap a teleport tower, the option box "zooms in" to view. With so many sprites on-screen at once, this zoom takes several seconds, giving the jets plenty of time to zip on by, causing me precious lives lost. Please consider an option to remove the zoom-in animation of this dialog box.
2. My kids sometimes play. As such, they like to reduce the skill level to maybe 1 or 2. However, the level up-down selector cannot be held in. It has to be tapped multiple times. So for my kids, that's almost 450 taps to set the game up for them, and another 450 to get it back. It would be super-convenient to allow the up/down arrows to be held in for an accelerated level change.

To buy Full version in restricted country you need to install MarketEnabler:

To install MarketEnabler your phone need to be rooted. Rooting phone is not easy (even don't ask how do that in comments - use google) and you will lose warranty.
I just got my last achievement, yay! The hardest one was "risk taker". Eventually I played on a low level and let all of the baddies through until I had one life left, then built a stack of towers so that I could still win the game. Great game guys, looking forwards to the next update.

When is RoboDefense going to support being moved to the SD card on Froyo?
ReplyDeleteIt only needs a quick change to the manifest and doesn't stop it working on older versions of Android - and makes all your Froyo users much happier.
When are you going to support the Move to SD card function in Froyo? It's very easy to do, and it'll still work on older versions of Android.

With a Dell Streak mobile, you can change the density/ppi from within the android menu.
And this guys have also the same problem!

Hello. Awesome game! I also have a display problem. When I first started playing, the maps displayed correctly. Now, the map image seems to be about 80% of the original size. The units do not come out of the screen in a location that corresponds to the map. I seem to remember that I used to be able to scroll the screen in all directions but now I can only scroll up and down.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering, could it possible to have an upgrade for the mine and teleport where the arming is automatic (for a tad higher price instead of $5 as fee for auto arming). This would come in handy when you have multiple items that need to be armed quickly and can't scroll across the map quick enough to accomplish it.

I have a bug too. I love the game! just bought it and am hooked already! However the bug I have on my X10 is that sometimes (i've only noticed this when clicking on a tower to upgrade) the tower buttons to add a new tower go off the screen, and I can just see the top of the buttons to click on the tower I want, by memory....

ReplyDeleteBug report: EVO on Damage Control ROM 3.5. I installed LCD Density app and was playing around with non-standard dpi values. I suspect Robo Defense upgraded while I was running at 200 or 220.
ReplyDeleteNow, RD seems to be "stuck" showing only part of the map, with the tower buttons very small. Scrolling the screen does not work. Dragging up only shows a black bar across the bottom. You can't dragging left does not move the map at all.
I've tried an un install / re install no change.

ReplyDeleteI REALLY enjoy this game, but I'd love to see some stats for units. I.E. What's the base HP, and rewards for destroying said unit and what the multiplier is for increasing levels. Also, I'd love to see a break down of the damage caused by the different towers and the results of upgrading it (and purchasing upgrades via reward points)

I am on an unrooted stock EVO running 1.3.0 Build 1798. i have found that using the fast forward feature while playing lets more of the bad guys through. i tried it 5 different times, starting on level 3 putting 5 machine gun turrets up. letting the game progress at the normal speed, i get through 5 or 6 waves without anyone getting through. if i fast forward through each wave, buy the 4th or 5th wave at least 3 bad guys get through. Is this a bug or is it by design? makes me wonder how many games i would have won if i just let it continue at normal speed!

The problem is now, I can't buy the full version from the store, it's locked for my cell! The appstore is unlocked in my region (Sweden), but I can't buy it, 'cause it's locked for my particular brand of phone! If you can solve it, do it, you could miss out on a big audience if you don't!

Can someone help me please? I'm trying to reach higher levels and earn all achievements but I have some problems. I figured upgrading rocket towers would be the best bet as they do the most damage, but upgrading explosive damage now costs 5 million points, and I only make about 1.2 million per game (at level 60). Do I have to play 5 games for 1 upgrade? Do I have to play even more than 5 games for 1 upgrade in the future?
